Champion Tae Kwon Do Center involve ourselves in two types of competition: Taekwondo (Olympic Style competition) and Karate (point competition). For the most part our students have the options of doing either or, both, or neither. It is important to remember that competition is not for all and as such we don't require it as part of our promotion. Students who chooses, with Instructors / Parental approval to enter into competition must attend sparring classes on a regular basis and must have protective sparring gears.

Champion Taekwondo Competition Team is a special program designed for students who want to become the best they can be at competing in Tae Kwon Do tournaments. Whether your aspirations are to become state, national, or international caliber competitors, Master Fernandes and his team of expert competitors will help each student reach his/her goals and potentials. The team trains 2 times per week depending on the level of the tournament. They can be seen competing at tournaments in Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut all year round. For the more serious competitors, there are National Championships and Junior Olympics. So far the program has produced Junior Olympic Gold Medallists, U.S. Open Gold medallists, New York and New Jersey State Champions both at Senior and junior level. Training consists of paddle kicking drills, hogu drills (chest protector), sparring, endurance drills, and ply metrics. Master Fernandes goal is to make each student reach their highest potential
